New build and remodel plumbing in Nolensville

Nolensville has a lot of construction going on. That means builders who need a plumber who shows up when the schedule says, and homeowners who want to add a bathroom to a basement or finish a bonus room. We take both.

For builders

Plumbing is one of the trades that has to be right early. If you call us with the plans and the timeline, we can tell you whether we can fit it. We rough in on slab or crawlspace, coordinate with framers and mechanical trades, and stay out of the way when we are not needed.

For homeowners finishing a space

Basements and bonus rooms often get a bathroom late in the project. If drains were stubbed in during construction, adding a bath is straightforward. If not, you may be cutting concrete for a drain, or installing an ejector pump if the basement is below the sewer line. We will explain the choices and costs.

Basements and the sewer line

Finishing a basement bathroom has one big question, and it is whether the basement floor is above or below the sewer line. If it is above, gravity does the work and the drain is simple. If it is below, waste has to be pumped up to the line, which means an ejector pump in a sealed pit.

Neither is unusual. The pump version costs more up front and needs a bit of maintenance, but it makes a bathroom possible in a space that would not otherwise have one.

Questions we ask on a Nolensville build

  • Slab, basement or crawlspace
  • Depth and location of the sewer connection
  • Where the water service enters
  • How many bathrooms and where the kitchen sits
  • Whether the lot has rock close to the surface

More build questions

Do you handle punch list plumbing for builders?

Yes. Small fixes at the end of a build are a regular part of our work.

Can you plumb an outdoor kitchen?

Yes. It needs a supply, a drain and sometimes gas. We plan all three together.

Typical order of work

  1. Plan

Fixture locations, drain routes and supply sizing.

  2. Rough-in

Lines run and tested before walls close.

  3. Finish

    Fixtures set and tested.

Build and remodel questions

Can you add a bathroom in my basement?

Usually yes. It depends on whether drains were stubbed in during construction and how deep the sewer line is.

Do you do ejector pumps?

If a basement bath is below the sewer line, a pump system may be needed. A look at the basement and the sewer location settles it.

A pot filler and the kitchen supply

A pot filler is a faucet on the wall behind the range, with a folding arm that reaches over the burners. It needs a cold water line run inside the wall, a shutoff valve that is accessible, and a spot where a leak would not damage anything. In a new build, that is simple, since the wall is open. In a finished kitchen, it means opening the wall behind the range and fishing a line in from below or above.

Because a pot filler is rarely used, the water in its short line can sit for days. That is fine for filling a pot you are going to boil, and is the reason most people use it only for that. A pot filler is a nice detail, and worth planning before the backsplash goes up.
