Faucet, toilet and fixture installation in Smyrna
If you bought a new faucet or toilet and would rather not wrestle it into place, we do fixture installs across Smyrna. We check the valves, supply lines and drain connections behind each fixture, because that is where the problems usually are.
Common fixture questions
Do you install fixtures I bought myself?
Yes. Bring the fixture and we will install it. If something is missing or does not fit, we say so before we start.
What if the shutoff valve will not close?
We replace it. A new quarter-turn valve is cheap compared to flooding a cabinet, and it makes the next repair simple.
Can you put in a disposal?
Usually, as long as there is power nearby. We will look at the sink drain setup first.
My toilet keeps running. Is that a fixture problem?
Often it is a worn flapper or fill valve, which is a quick fix. Sometimes it is a cracked tank. We will tell you which.
What we check on every install
Before we set a new faucet we look at the supply lines. If they are old rubber hoses, we replace them with braided lines. Before we set a toilet we check the flange for cracks and the floor for soft spots, because a toilet on a weak floor will rock and leak.
A fixture is only as good as its connections.
Upgrading after a few years in the house
Most of our fixture calls in Smyrna come from owners who have lived in a place long enough to know what they hate about it. The faucet that splashes. The toilet that needs two flushes. The sink that never quite drains. A change of fixture often fixes the complaint, and sometimes the complaint turns out to be a clogged aerator or a worn flapper that costs very little.
We will tell you which it is before you buy anything.

When a toilet wobbles, leaks or will not flush right
Most toilet problems come from a handful of causes. A wobble usually means the flange is loose, sits low, or the floor beneath it has softened. A leak at the base means the wax seal has failed, which often follows a wobble. A weak flush can be a clogged rim hole, a worn flapper, or a vent problem. A tank that runs constantly is almost always a flapper or a fill valve.
Fixing the cause is better than swapping the toilet. We check the flange and the floor first. If a flange is cracked, we repair it. If the floor is soft, we tell you, since a new toilet on a bad floor will fail again. If the toilet itself is cracked or the china is worn, we replace it with one that suits the room.

What can I do about a faucet that sprays sideways?
Usually mineral buildup in the aerator. Unscrew it, soak it in vinegar and rinse. If that does not fix it, the cartridge may be worn.
How long does a toilet swap take?
Usually an hour or so, longer if the flange or the floor needs repair.
