Remodel and new build plumbing in Lebanon
Lebanon is growing, and houses of every age are being updated or built. We rough in and finish plumbing for remodels, additions and new homes, working with builders and with owners who manage their own projects.
Older homes
A mid-century house near Cumberland University or Castle Heights Avenue often has good bones but dated plumbing. Remodels there tend to open walls and expose galvanized or old copper pipe, and the question is how much to replace while the wall is open. We tell you what we see and what makes sense to do now.
New homes and rock
On new construction, underground plumbing in Lebanon sometimes means dealing with rock. Slab drains, sewer connections and water services all have to be coordinated with the excavation and the site plan. We plan for it and communicate with the builder.
A kitchen in a house near Castle Heights Avenue
Houses in neighborhoods near Cumberland University and along North Castle Heights Avenue have a lot of character and a lot of surprises in the walls. A kitchen remodel might uncover a vent stack that runs through a wall the plans assumed was empty, or a drain that goes down at a sharper angle than expected. The best preparation is to leave room in the schedule and the budget for what is behind the cabinets.
In a Lebanon remodel we tend to look at
- Where the stack runs and whether it can serve a new fixture
- What shape the existing supply lines are in
- Whether the floor has room for a new drain
- How the new fixtures change the water demand

Do I need to hire an engineer for a plumbing change?
Usually not for ordinary remodels. If structural members are involved, a contractor or engineer weighs in.

Yes.
A basement bathroom and the sewer line
Houses built into Lebanon's slopes often have basements, and basement bathrooms are a popular add. The question is where the house sewer leaves the building. If it exits above the basement floor, a new bathroom can drain by gravity. If it leaves below, the waste has to be lifted. A sealed pit with a pump, called an ejector, collects the waste and sends it up to the main line.
An ejector is not exotic. It is a common solution and works well when installed correctly with a sealed lid, a vent and a check valve. It does need to be accessible for service and, depending on the use, replaced after some years. Before you frame a basement bath, we look at the sewer location and tell you which route fits.
Planning a basement bath
- Locate the sewer and measure its depth
- Decide where the fixtures will sit relative to it
- Plan for a floor drain or a sump if there is any chance of water
- Leave access to the pit and the cleanout
Planning around Lebanon schedules
Weather, rock and inspection timing all affect a build in Wilson County. If a trench hits rock, the day gets longer. If an inspector is booked solid, the next stage waits. A good plumber builds that into the schedule and talks with you about it early, so you are not surprised. Ask any contractor you hire how they handle delays and who talks to whom when the plan changes.
For us, it comes down to communication. We tell you what we are doing and when, we call if something changes, and we answer when you call back.
